The Indiana District LWML will issue a limited number of $500.00
scholarships for the 2010-2011 school year to young men and women
preparing for full-time church work in the LC-MS (pastor, teacher, DCE,
deaconess, etc.) To qualify, a student must be a communicant member of a
congregation in the LC-MS in the Indiana District for at least 18
months. He/she must attend an LC-MS synodical school with approved
enrollment.
Scholarships are issued for a period of one year. A new application
must be made each year. Obtain applications by contacting the
Scholarship Chairman (address below) or by downloading a copy of the
Scholarship Application Letter and the
Scholarship Application Form from the website.. Completed
application forms must be postmarked no later than March 15, 2010.

may be requested from the Scholarship Chairman. Funds are very low this
year. Please encourage the use of these cards in your society and/or

2009-2010 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
This year we had the
blessing of giving thirteen (13) $500 scholarships.
We praise
God that we were able to assist these students and pray that the funds
will continue to come in so that we can support more students in the
years to come.
Those receiving funds from the Helen
Hartman Scholarship Fund were:

Jessica Reeves from Divine Savior in Shepherdsville, KY. Jessica
will be a senior at Concordia, Ann Arbor and will become a teacher.
- Kiara
Denholm from St. Peter’s in Columbus. Kiara will be a junior at Concordia,
Chicago and is preparing to be a teacher
-
Marty Hasz is attending the seminary in St. Louis. He is a former DCE
from Indianapolis and will be in his second seminary year. Marty is married and
has three children.
Money given to the LWML Scholarship Fund through Memorial and Joy
Card donations along with direct gifts gave us the other ten (10)
scholarships. These were given to:

Stephanie Berning from Martini in New Haven who will be a junior at Concordia,
Chicago and is preparing to be a teacher.

Marcus Manley from St. Paul, Columbus will be in his second year of
seminary in Ft. Wayne.

Rachel Powell from Bryant, IN and who attends Zion in Decatur will be a
sophomore at Concordia, Chicago and is preparing to be a deaconess.

Micah Buss from St. John’s Columbus will be a junior at Concordia, Chicago and
is preparing to be a teacher.

Amy Powell from Bryant and who attends Zion in Decatur will be a freshman at
Concordia, Chicago preparing to be a teacher.

David Whan is finishing his year of vicarage in Milton, WA and will return to
the seminary in Ft. Wayne for his final year of training. David is originally
from Churubusco, is married and the father of three children.

Kristen Zilz is from Holy Cross in Ft. Wayne and will be a sophomore at
Concordia, Chicago preparing to be a teacher.

Alicia Drier from Zion Friedheim in Decatur will be a junior at Concordia, Ann
Arbor where she is preparing to be a teacher.

Michael Keller from Trinity, Evansville will be a freshman at Concordia, Chicago
and is preparing to be a teacher with an emphasis in church music.

Stevensville, MI and will be returning to Ft. Wayne for his final year of
seminary training. |
